Day Five

Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero.- Marc Brown

I have been blessed with the best brothers. I have four brothers Bear, Porter, Nathan, and Brigham. I am surrounded by brothers. I was born into a family that already had two little boys. Yes, I was the first girl. I'm sure my brothers were very excited to have a little sister. Actually, I doubt they even noticed. My younger brother, Nathan, is fifteen months younger than me. My youngest brother, Brigham, is the baby of the family.

One of my earliest memories is playing Mulan with my brothers. Porter always got to be Mulan and my brother got to be the extra soldiers/heroes of the story. I was always left being the leader of the huns. This is use to annoy me because I was the girl and I should have been Mulan. I also remember taking off our clothes and running around in underwear in the rain. I have so many great memories of my brothers and they helped to make my childhood great. I really do miss being able to hang out with my brothers whenever I want!

Bear is the oldest child of the family. No, his name is not actually Bear. His real name is Gary James Chelson the third. HE thinks Gary is a nerdy name. Bear is the kindest, most personable person I know. He was one of my first heroes. Bear is four years older than me. The older he got the less we hung out. He had a lot of friends groups and was always hanging out with friends. He was involved in sports, student council, and a lot of other things. Bear has a silver tongue. He worked as a Senate Page and the Senators loved him. The minute you meet Bear you love him. He can do a mean Chewie sound. Bear went to New Zealand on his mission and he loved it. Bear has huge goals and he's going to reach them. I'm so glad that I've been able to get to know Bear while being at the LDSBC. I love Bear so much and he makes me very proud. I am so blessed that Bear is such a great example and that he is a hard worker.

Porter is one of my best friends and a brother. Like I mentioned before Porter always got to be Mulan. Porter and I have always had a "special" relationship. When it was just me and the boys I would share a bunk-bed with Porter. Mine and Porter's bunk-bed was straight across from Bear and Nathan's bunk-bed. We use to throw pillows and animals every night at each other. Bear and Porter would throw the animals and Nathan and I would retrieve the animals. This is just a fun memory I have of him. Porter would get up in the middle of the night with the babies so my mom could sleep. Porter was never very athletic but he is a great actor. Porter was involved in student council, plays, and a lot of other things. Porter went to Birmingham, Alabama for his mission. He loved his mission. Porter is at BYU and loves it. Porter has the best voices and facial expressions. He can always make me laugh. I'm so glad we only live forty minutes away from me.

My Irish twin, Nathan, is only fifteen months younger than me. He is also one of my best friends. We are so close in age we didn't really have a choice not to be best friends. Nathan is the Student Body President. He can do a mean ghost impersonation, I mean he made two little kids cry. Nathan goes for everything he wants. He is willing to take a risk even if he might not get the end result he wants. Nathan is super brilliant. Like a straight A's and high ACT score brilliant. One of his favorite hobbies is receiving college letters in the mail. Nathan has always had a job and is willing to give money to anyone when they ask. He is very kind, generous, and sweet. I love to call Nathan Wittle Brother even though he is bigger than me. I have missed Nathan so much since coming to Salt Lake City. I know Nathan will excel at life and I'm so proud of him. He's the best wittle brother I could ask for!

Brigham is the baby of the family. I think I let him sit on my lap until he was seven. He looks exactly like Bear. Brigham has gone through more struggles in ten years of life than some adults. He had Perthes. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002244/ You can read about it at that link. He had to be in a cast that was half of his body for six weeks. He couldn't run for a long time.Brigham loves sports and it made him really sad that Perthes stopped him from playing. Brigham is smart, funny, and a great athlete. I love talking to Brigham and love all the loves he gives me. I miss giving him hand massages during church. I can't wait to go back and see my blue eyed, baby brother.

I know that my brothers love me. I know that they would do anything for me. They are all so different and I've learned so much from them. They have strong testimonies, great voices, and awesome sense of humors. I feel bad for the sisters who do not have brothers like mine! I'm so thankful I was born into a family with four awesome boys!
